Ar. Sacha Noordin and Ar. Soon Tan are the 2 Principals and are the Leadership Team in STA Architects Sdn Bhd. Both are Chartered Architects and play an active role throughout all key phases of project design and execution.

We are a creative company, working within a studio atmosphere where experimentation is encouraged, while being pragmatic to budget as well as time considerations. We endeavour to deliver beyond the Client’s expectations.

Ar. IDr. Sacha Noordin

Sacha was born in 1970 and was educated at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, from 1990 to 1996. Under the tutelage of Peter Cook and Christine Hawley, he graduated from the Post Graduate School with a Distinction. Sacha began work as an Architect with Dr. Ken Yeang upon his return to Malaysia before leaving to pursue the freedom of his own office in 2001 under the auspices of Soon Tan Architect, and then in 2003 under his own banner of Sacha And Tan Architects Sdn Bhd. That name was changed to STA Architects Sdn Bhd in 2019, in anticipation of growth of the company and the need to have a legacy plan for the future. Sacha is a hands-on Principal who is always available to solve design and technical issues personally. The projects that he has managed and completed/is completing vary from a resort hotel in Indonesia to a 52-storey residential tower in Kuala Lumpur, to a Surau in a forest park complex right next to the Tugu Negara National Monument, to a campus/office for a conservation NGO in Sabah.

Ar. Soon Tan

Soon was born in 1965 and had his early education in the UK. From 1985 to 1990 he studied at the Architectural Association in London, and spent his Post Graduate years there under the tutelage of Peter Salter.

Soon left the Architectural Association and after a year working in London, joined Hijjas Kasturi Associates and was made a Director. He left Hijjas Kasturi Associates and started Soon Tan Architects, which became Sacha And Tan Architects Sdn Bhd in 2003, and eventually STA Architects Sdn Bhd in 2019.
